Monster Bash
This book has certainly
taken on a new twist! :) Even I'm surprised. This book started out
as just another emergent reader that would reinforce color words and ordinals as
you see in the sample page. However, with a few twists and turns, it has
turned into an "emergent reader chapter book" thanks to an idea shared with me
by Barb.
The book can be a
stand-alone emergent reader, or if you wish, it can be a chapter book .. your
choice.
The text format of this book
follows the same sentence pattern as in the sample page above except for the
beginning and ending of the story. The book is created in a full page,
portrait format with expanded text for easier reading. Sight words
used are: a, was, came, an, had, they, then. All text is at the bottom of the page.
The pages are not numbered. (13 pages)
The book will be sold in 2
parts. You may purchase just the first part, or purchase the second part
as well which will make it a chapter book. (2 chapters)
At this time, I have only created Pocketchart
Picture Cards for the first part of the book, not the second chapter. It has all the pictures from the book
already formatted in the size to fit in your pocketchart. Just copy the
pictures onto cardstock, color, laminate, and cut apart and you're ready to go.
The pocketchart pictures are definite timesavers!
